Included free functionality

A useful edition that works without a paid unlock.

The directory edition is a useful diagnostic and connector product rather than a placeholder. It helps administrators verify the OpenSearch service they configured.

Connection diagnostics

Test endpoint reachability, authentication, TLS and compatible OpenSearch versions.

Permission checks

Identify whether the configured account can perform the required read operations.

Index inspection

Review available indices, mappings and compatibility signals without changing them.

Read-only query lab

Run bounded diagnostic queries against the administrator-configured endpoint.

Diagnostic export

Export a support-safe diagnostic summary without exposing stored credentials.

No usage quota

The included diagnostic functionality is not time-limited or artificially capped.

Editions

Free first, commercial depth separately distributed.

Separately distributed editions add active indexing and storefront search operations. Those implementations are not included in the WordPress.org diagnostic package.

WordPress.org package: The free package contains no commercial implementation disabled behind a license gate. Separately distributed editions are described for comparison only.
1

Indexing and synchronization

Adds document mapping, queues, workers and live catalog synchronization.

2

Storefront search

Adds provider routing, facets, autocomplete, ranking controls and fallback behavior.

3

Advanced operations

Adds higher-frequency processing, blue/green rebuilds and external queue adapters.

Requirements

WordPress 6.5 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer, WooCommerce and access to an administrator-configured OpenSearch endpoint.

External services

The plugin connects only to the OpenSearch endpoint configured by the site administrator. OpenSearch receives diagnostic requests, configured HTTP Basic credentials, the selected index pattern and the size-zero test query. This Directory edition does not contact PPL or Freemius and sends no telemetry.

Support and documentation

Use the product page as the canonical plugin reference. Installation, privacy and support information remain available even before a WordPress.org listing is approved.
